Attorney James Piel was raised in Southern California and north central Oklahoma. He graduated from the University of Oklahoma with a Bachelor of Arts in History with Special Distinction. He earned his Juris Doctor degree magna cum laude from Georgetown University Law Center in Washington, D.C. Following law school, Attorney Piel worked at large, national defense law firms for eight years before switching to the plaintiffs’ side of the docket. He found a calling and he never looked back. Attorney Piel became a shareholder at a large plaintiff’s firm in Dallas, Texas and managed the litigation of a number of high profile mass tort cases across the country, representing hundreds of injured clients in large toxic exposure cases. Attorney Piel is an active member of the Dallas Trial Lawyers Association, and served multiple terms as a member of the DTLA Board of Directors.
In October 2020, Attorney Piel joined the Manuel Diaz Law Firm where he is honored to serve our clients as the Supervising Intake Attorney in the Dallas office.
