Attorney Joel was born and raised in Dallas, Texas. He attended the University of Texas at Dallas where he obtained his B.A in Business Administration and grew a passion for law while interning at the Collin County District Attorney’s Office. Pursuing his passion for the law, he earned his Juris Doctor from St. Mary’s University School of Law where he was a Staff Writer for The Scholar: St. Mary’s Law Review on Race and Social Justice along with serving as a student attorney in the Immigration and Human Rights Clinic.
After passing the Bar, Joel began gaining extensive trial experience first as a prosecutor in the County Attorney’s Office in Potter County and then as a prosecutor in the Ellis County and District Attorney’s Office. Joel has experience in all manner of cases including DWI’s, Possession of Drug cases, Assault Family Violence Cases, Theft, Indecent Exposure, Criminal Mischief, and Terroristic Threat.
He is currently part of the legal team at Manuel Diaz Law Firm, PC and his primary focus is Criminal law.
