Miguel A. Soto-Pastrana
Attorney Miguel A. Soto-Pastrana was born and raised in San Juan, Puerto Rico. He graduated from the Interamerican University of Puerto Rico, with a Bachelor in Criminal Justice in 1998. Thereafter, he earned his Juris Doctor at the Interamerican University School of Law in 2002, while he was working full time at the crime lab of the Institute of Forensic Sciences as a Firearm Examiner. He then was appointed as prosecutor for the Department of Justice of Puerto Rico in 2003. There he was second to the Chief of Prosecutors (DA) and later was designated as Chief Information Officer, in charge of technological projects for the criminal justice system. In 2018 he moved to San Antonio, Texas, and was appointed senior prosecutor for Bexar County in 2019.
Overall, he has 18 years of experience in the criminal area, which includes over 100 violent crime scenes attended as lead investigator. Former trainer for prosecutors, judges and other law enforcement officials on criminal justice procedures, criminal law, crime scene investigations and forensic matters.
